Gourmet Bike Merano

In 2026, we are celebrating ten years of the Gourmet Bike Merano tour

Our classic in the Sissi Tours programme: a guided day trip with Andi by e-bike around Merano. Off the usual tourist routes, we cycle around 40 km on mostly quiet, paved roads. Along the way, we get to know the land and its people through friends, stop at traditional farmsteads, taste homemade products and wines, and gain insight into today’s local gastronomy. We experience South Tyrolean culture and meet the people behind it. Further details can be found during the booking process.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Participation is possible well into older age if you are in good general health.
  • Our guests must be able to ride a bicycle, have some experience, and feel confident on the saddle (e.g. be able to maintain balance at low speeds).
  • In 2026, the steepest section of the Gourmet Bike Merano tour has been removed. We will once again stop at the Schnalshuber Hof one level lower. This means we only need to cover around 200 metres of elevation gain by e-bike.
  • E-bike use and helmet wearing are mandatory for all participants.
  • We recommend comfortable, sports-appropriate clothing suited to the season, as well as sunscreen and sunglasses.
  • The tour takes place if weather conditions allow. In case of cancellation due to weather, the tour cost will be refunded.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • The tour takes place in German, even if the booking page may sometimes seem a little confusing.
  • We travel in small groups of maximum 12 to 14 people.
  • You do not need to print and bring your booking confirmation.
  • You are welcome to use your own e-bike and benefit from a reduced price. It just needs to be an e-bike.
  • Water refill stations and toilets are available along the route.
  • We meet from 9:00 a.m.
  • Start and end point are the same.

CHILDREN & DOGS

  • Children are welcome, but they usually do not enjoy wine tastings or longer storytelling stops. For this reason, we generally do not recommend the tour for younger children.
  • Children aged 14 and over may join the tour if they are comfortable riding the smallest available e-bike size and are safe in road traffic.
  • Dogs are not permitted for four reasons:
    a) not all guests are comfortable with dogs being present
    b) dogs are not allowed at all stops and venues
    c) we visit farms that often have guard dogs
    d) multiple dogs rarely get along well – and it would be unfair to decide which ones take priority

NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

  • Additional attachable baskets or trailers. These are subject to an extra charge.
  • No accident insurance is included for the tour. This means that injuries caused by personal fault (e.g. falling off the bike) are not covered.
  • Drinks (except water) during lunch – if you would like beer or wine (please note: we are travelling by e-bike), these must be paid for individually.
  • Dessert or coffee after lunch – if you wish to enjoy coffee or dessert after the meal, these must also be paid for individually.
